Decided to have a quick attempt at a shadow over the weekend. I have a cheap bass guitar which was stowed away at my parents house that I decided to use (it made a massive difference) and I was interested in singing and playing rather than doing them individually. Think I still to work out some kinks in eqing out instruments in vocal tracks but I was interested to see if my performance differed whilst playing.
For the challenge, I wrote each verse with different instruments and then kind of meshed them together.
Lyrically it is about the town that time forgot where we stayed on holiday last week.

coast to coast
through corridors
of unreserved seats
playground left overgrown
and covered in weeds
I wondered if I might
spot another human being
in this lost part of the world
that's been this since 1983
it was quite a rundown
quiet little town
that you found
they say that on a rainy day
it is not the place to be
it's washed away the life of party
floating out to sea
if only there were slot machines
or even a quaint café
I gladly spend all of my money
on prizes or coffee
it was quite a rundown
quiet little town
that you found
so nail another coffin
in this god damn town
it was quite a rundown
quiet little town
that you found
