I've been doing a lot of reading about neurodiversity, in particular ADHD, for both myself and my daughter. One of the ways I find it useful to learn is to write what I understand about it in a song. I found I related to a lot of the things I was reading and I tried to make the chaos and scattiness that I often find my thoughts are doing by combining different singing lines and lots of ping pong delays, the idea being that they are fighting off each other and sometimes you get lost in the noise.
lyrics
it's a miracle that I got this far
balancing marbles on a flat top car
there's a fog that never lifts
in a place that always twists
and navigation is impossible
when you live that this
in my pop-pop-popcorn brain
shrouded with thoughts that I can't contain
this showers coming down on us all
and when the rain falls
yeah it starts to pour
there's a paper cup
that you can't fill
that's neither broken, damaged or ill
like walking through treacle in a restless mind
where things are cluttered and hide to find
and escape is impossible
when you live that this
in my pop-pop-popcorn brain
shrouded with thoughts that I can't contain
this showers coming down on us all
and when the rain falls
yeah it starts to pour
